Hello Wickliffe families,
As we round out our final week of school before the summer break, we hope your children have a wonderful last few days. Don't miss the all school town meeting on Wednesday (5/26 at 9:30am) featuring the 4th and 5th graders Golden Star Choir performance!
Please head to Rita's Italian Ice on Henderson Road, on Wednesday (5/26 from 3pm) for our last restaurant fundraiser of the year - treat your kids (and yourself) to celebrate the end of the year, and Wickliffe benefits too! Wickliffe PTO receives 20% when you show them this flyer or mention Wickliffe!
And, if you are interested in the UA district's summer bridge program, registration begins today (5/25 @ 4pm).
We'd like to extend a big thank you to Dr. Kassoy for sharing her resources and wisdom each week - we have really appreciated all your insights. Please see Counselor's Corner for Dr. Kassoy's end of year message.
And, a huge thank you to our outgoing PTO President, Kelley Swiney - here's her handover message, and how to vote for next year's PTO executive board....
Message from PTO President, Kelley Swiney:
WOW, everyone, guess what...WE MADE IT! What a crazy year it has been. Being PTO President this year, and last, has been one of my greatest joys and biggest challenges. At Wickliffe our PTO has always been an active group of adults who work hard, together and individually, to create lasting memories for our students and while this year was no different in our mission, the way we had to do it was substantially different. In a year where we were forced to cancel our largest fundraiser, Informal Affair, we were all worried about how we would be able to fund the "things" we normally do. Our PTO funds many things that most people don't know about and this year, although it might have looked differently, we were still able to fund everything we wanted to. As I look back on the past two years I am so thankful and grateful that I have been able to serve a community that I love so much and I am confident that the PTO is in fabulous hands moving forward. My final thought is to those of you who may not have chosen to get involved in the past and are considering volunteering for Wickliffe's PTO in the future....JUST DO IT! I have made some fabulous friends that I wouldn't have otherwise have known through my time in the PTO and they all know, I am not going anywhere. There is a job for everyone, regardless of how much time you have to spend. Below you will see a link to vote on the executive board slate for next year. These are the members of our Executive Committee that you will be voting to approve but there are still many, many committee positions that we need to fill. We truly hope that you will consider reaching out to us to get involved. Finally, I want to thank all of you for being members of the Wickliffe PTO and to tell you that the PTO is in fabulously capable and AMAZING hands as I pass the reigns on to Dawn Hofherr. Enjoy your summer! Take some time to relax and rejuvenate and hopefully next fall we will all be able to be back together, in person, in some sense of normalcy.
GO WICKLIFFE WOLVES!
