We are excited to be partnering with local business Steven's Catering on all four Wednesdays in February! Each week has a new selection of delicious family style meals to-go, and 10% of each order benefits our school. This flyer shows all the menus and pricing, and you can choose to participate in any or all 4 weeks.

Here's the menu for week 2, all orders include 1 entree, 2 sides and a house salad.

• To order: place your order before NOON on Friday February 5th. Order online using this link (please check you are ordering from the Wickliffe menu), and Steven's Catering will call you to confirm payment information. Or order by phone on 614-486-1221.
• Pick up: your week 2 meal on Wednesday, February 10th between 5pm and 6pm, at Wickliffe. Drive thru the bus loop to pick up your meal kit. Heat, serve and enjoy!

MARK YOUR CALENDAR for Week 3: orders are due by noon February 12; pick up on Wednesday, February 17th. Order online from Monday 2/8.

Our school's yearbook sale deadline is coming up! All orders are due by Friday, February 5th. If you haven't already, don't forget to order your Wickliffe Progressive School Yearbook today at book.hrimaging.com for $14.00 each.

There is currently no charge for elementary students to buy school lunch through the end of the school year due to a USDA National Waiver.

• IN-SCHOOL: To pre-order meals from Nutritional Services on the days your student is in school, please click here to make your selection, orders need to be placed by 10pm one day in advance. The lunches are delivered to the classrooms.

• REMOTE: Multi-day meal packs are available for pick up for any student learning remotely (at home days in the school-based pathway and students in the Online Academy). Families may request a weekly meal pack for their student:
  • for the week of February 1, please complete this form.
  • for the week of February 8, please complete this form.
  • for the week of February 15, please complete this form.
  • for the week of February 22, please complete this form.
    

Meals are available for pick up on Wednesdays for all students.
The week of Feb 1, meal pickup is Wednesday 3rd at 11:45am - 12:30pm, at Wickliffe.

Please note: if you cannot make that time slot, the PTO would like to help by bringing your child's meal pack to you - please reach out to us (wickliffepto@gmail.com) and we will work with you to drop off the meal to your house.

Angela Evans  and I invite all families to join us to discuss ways to support your children as this pandemic continues to make devices the primary way our children are staying connected. Having technology, as we know, is both a blessing and curse.

In light of our upcoming parent coffee, I wanted to share an NPR podcast that I heard on Meghna Chakrabarti’s program, On Point called, “How Screen Time Shapes Kids.” This podcast talks about the impact that screen time is having on our children

Anya Kamenetz, NPR education correspondent. Author of "The Art Of Screen Time" provides one perspective. Natasha Burgert, pediatrician and spokesperson for the American Academy of Pediatrics and member of the advisory board for Wait Until 8th, a group that encourages parents to wait until 8th grade before purchasing a smartphone for their child, provides a different point of view. 

The concept of children developing the internal skills to self-regulate while parents provide the necessary boundaries and expectations about screen time usage, is the key to helping our children successfully use their devices for learning and staying connected.

As always, I hope this podcast reaffirms the choices you are already making or provides some new ways to think about your child and their device.
