We are excited to be partnering with local business Steven's Catering on all four Wednesdays in February! Each week has a new selection of delicious family style meals to-go, and 10% of each order benefits our school. This flyer shows all the menus and pricing, and you can choose to participate in any or all 4 weeks.

For week 1, place your order by noon Friday 1/29 for pick up on Wednesday 2/3:

• Select your family style meal. All orders include 1 entree, 2 sides and a house salad.

• Place your order before NOON on Friday January 29th: Order online using this link (please check you are ordering from the Wickliffe menu), and Steven's Catering will call you to confirm payment information. Or order by phone on 614-486-1221.

• Pick up your week 1 meal on Wednesday, February 3rd between 5pm and 6pm, at Wickliffe. Drive thru the bus loop to pick up your meal kit. Heat, serve and enjoy!

MARK YOUR CALENDAR for Week 2: orders are due by noon February 5; pick up on Wednesday, February 10th. Order online from Monday 2/1.

Our school's yearbook sale deadline is coming up! All orders are due by Friday, February 5th. If you haven't already, don't forget to order your Wickliffe Progressive School Yearbook today at book.hrimaging.com for $14.00 each.

There is currently no charge for elementary students to buy school lunch through the end of the school year due to a USDA National Waiver.

• IN-SCHOOL: To pre-order meals from Nutritional Services on the days your student is in school, please click here to make your selection, orders need to be placed by 10pm one day in advance. The lunches are delivered to the classrooms.

• REMOTE: Multi-day meal packs will be available for pick up for Independent Remote Learning days (at home days and online academy). A remote pickup form will need to be completed each week if you would like to pick up a remote multi-meal pack that week. For the week of January 25, please complete this form.
  
  *All students can pickup on Wednesday.
  *Meal pickup will be Wednesday 1/27 from 11:45am - 12:30pm, at Wickliffe.

Please note: if you cannot make that time slot, the PTO would like to help by bringing your child's meal pack to you - please reach out to us (wickliffepto@gmail.com) and we will work with you to drop off the meal to your house.

It was great seeing so many of our Online Academy friends at our Zoom lessons this past Friday. We hope to see you for our next OA MeetUp this Thursday, January 28th from 11am-12pm. As we are waiting for warmer weather, we will continue to meet on Zoom (https://zoom.us/j/7191866057).

Developing tools and strategies to help our children regulate their emotions is a critical part of their social-emotional development. As we continue to navigate this pandemic, this is more important than ever.

You may have noticed, one of our newest groups is Morning Mindfulness. This was developed in response to the increased worries that children are experiencing and expressing to us at school. The research continues to support mindfulness and meditation as tools to promote happiness and relieve stress. 

This article provides an overview of the benefits of mindfulness, the “simple act of bringing a gentle, accepting attitude to the present moment.” In addition, meditation, learning to observe your feelings without judgment, is another tool for emotional regulation. Common Sense Media suggests these meditation apps for children.

So I encourage everyone to explore with their children how to pause, take a deep breath, and pay attention to the present moment in an accepting, nonjudgmental manner.
