After School Discovery
The PTO offers After School Discovery (ASD) classes throughout the school year. ASD is offered to grades K-5 with a variety of classes held immediately after school. Instructors are from area businesses and organizations, including Wickliffe families. Courses are generally held in Wickliffe classrooms for six weeks unless otherwise indicated.
Students go directly from their classrooms at the end of the day to their ASD courses and have time for a snack and restroom break. Rosters and schedules are shared with teachers, staff, and parent volunteers to help students get to the right location. Students enrolled in SACC are able to participate in ASD; after checking in with SACC, they proceed to their ASD location.
RegistrationLog into the PTO website when registration opens. You do not need to be a paid member of the PTO to register for ASD. The registration form for each of your Wickliffe students is under "Store & Data (Information) Forms" and will list only the courses available for the student's grade level.
Add courses to your cart, repeat the process for any additional students using their forms, and then proceed to your cart to check out. You will receive a confirmation email once you successfully submit your order. View detailed registration instructions here. Email receipts will be sent from notify@membershiptoolkit.com; please check your spam folder if you do not receive one.
ASD Policies & ProceduresWe strive to provide a fun and safe outlet for creative, wellness, and intellectual pursuits. The policies in this document have been crafted to allow us to do so: Policy Link
Course-specific communications will be sent from notify@membershiptoolkit.com. Please direct any questions to the After School Discovery committee's shared inbox at wickliffeptoasd@gmail.com. Please add both email addresses to your approved senders list to ensure you receive important information, such as schedule changes.
VolunteersASD is a PTO program, administered entirely by volunteers from Wickliffe families. We regularly seek volunteers for ASD dismissal. Whether you can volunteer only one afternoon or a regular series of afternoons, we welcome your help! With up to twenty-five courses three times a school year, there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes to make ASD happen - recruiting instructors, planning course schedules, updating the registration system, printing rosters for teachers, helping students find their courses on the first days, responding to family questions, and much more. Have a skillset to share or want to learn? Join the committee and see the magic that is ASD! Contact us at wickliffeptoasd@gmail.com.
ScholarshipsWe welcome all Wickliffe students to participate in ASD. A limited number of scholarships are available to help close the gap between a family's ability to pay and the course fee. Please contact the Kaitlyn Karam at kkaram@uaschools.org for details prior to registering your student.
