What is After School Discovery?
After School Discovery is an after school enrichment program offered by the Wickliffe PTO. After School Discovery provides opportunities for your child to experience new and interesting activities with friends and classmates: from drama to sports to language to magic and more! There’s something for everyone!
How do I find out what classes are offered?
To discover what classes we’re offering for WINTER 2012, see the Class Schedule at a Glance table or view a full catalog online on the Wickliffe PTO Web site at www.wickliffepto.org. Since we’ve gone partly paperless, (you may kindly do some of the printing), we do not send out full catalogs in each student’s backpack anymore. However, there will be a small stash of catalogs in the school office for those who would rather have a hard copy, or do not have internet access to the catalog online.
REGISTRATION PROCEDURES
The following instructions explain how to enroll your child in the Winter 2011 sessions of the After School Discovery Program. Registration forms are found on the last pages of the program booklet and additional forms can be found in the school office or on the PTO Web site http://www.wickliffepto.org
How do I sign my child up?
To sign your child up for a class, use the registration form that appears after the “Class Schedule at a Glance” table attached. Be sure your child fits in the age range for the course they’ve chosen, then just fill out the form and follow the drop off or mailing instructions at the bottom. Please use only one registration form for each class.
More than one student may be registered on the same form for the same class. This really helps us to make sure everyone is on the correct roster. A check must be submitted for each registration. NO CASH, PLEASE!! Please make checks payable to “Wickliffe PTO.”Drop-off & Mail-in Registration: Completed registration forms and class fees may be mailed to the address at the bottom of the registration form. Mail-in registration must be received no later than Wednesday, January 18th, 2012 (Wednesday January 11th for “DIG-IN” class).. You may also drop off your registration to the ASD box in the school office by end of the school day (2:50PM) or send into school with your child to turn it in to the office themselves.
You will not receive a confirmation form.
Your child is enrolled if they are on the roster (unless otherwise notified –eg the class was cancelled). Rosters for classes will be emailed by Sunday January 22nd, 2012 and posted in the hallway outside the school office Monday before classes begin. The schedule includes interruptions due to holidays, school activities and school closings. All course dates are listed in this booklet. Check course descriptions for this important information to note in your calendar. In the event that a class is overfilled at the close of registration, the After School Discovery program will make every attempt to add another class. Participants will be notified of additional class time choices if available. If classes remain overfilled after these efforts, class participants will be selected through a lottery. If there is insufficient enrollment for a class, it will be canceled and your check will be voided and will either be destroyed or returned. No refunds after registration, except in the case of lottery or insufficient enrollment. Telephone and Walk-In registration cannot be accepted.
SCHOLARSHIP PROCEDURES: Partial Scholarships will be made available to those who have financial need. Scholarships are provided for on-site classes only. This offer is limited to one course per child. You can obtain a scholarship application from Sheila Millard in the school office. All requests will be kept strictly confidential.
REGISTRATION DATES AND DEADLINES
• Please note that “DIG-IN” starts on January 13th (and meets once a month through both Winter and Spring Term, off site). THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR THIS GREAT CLASS IS WEDNESDAY JANUARY 11
• All other classes start the week of January 23rd : Drop-off registration for all classes EXCEPT “DIG-IN” will be taken in the box in the school office now through 3pm on FRIDAY, JANUARY 20th.
• Mail-in registration Forms/checks must be received by WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 18th.
